About Barry
Barry is located just 7 miles away from the welsh capital of Cardiff and sits on the coastline of the Bristol channel.
Barry Island was well known as a Butlins holiday camp until it was closed down in1987. It is now known for its stunning beaches and for Barry Island pleasure park.

Barry and Barry Island were joined together in the 1890's when Barry Dock were built by the Barry Railway Company.
Barry also has a Heritage Railway station which runs Steam engines including an exact copy of Thomas the Tank Engine.
Barry has its own 13th Century Norman Castle which can be found in the romily area.
The Castle was extended in the 14th Century.

Barry also boasts its own football team who are currently in the Welsh 2nd division. Barry Town FC.
